Legacy in Motion: The Custom LT1-Powered Jaguar E-Type from ECD Automotive Design

Some builds are measured in horsepower. Others are measured in meaning.

During a visit to ECD Automotive Design, Steel & Style had the opportunity to experience one of the most emotional and unforgettable custom builds we’ve covered — a fully customized Jaguar E-Type powered by an LT1 engine and built as a rolling tribute to its late owner.

Long before the project was completed, the visionary behind the build passed away, leaving behind a dream that would ultimately become something far greater than just another restoration. What emerged was a machine carrying legacy, passion, craftsmanship, and memory in every curve of its hand-crafted bodywork.

The Jaguar E-Type has always been considered one of the most beautiful cars ever created, but this version carried something deeper. The custom touches, modern performance, aggressive stance, and carefully refined details transformed the iconic classic into something intensely personal. It became more than transportation — it became a final statement.

Standing in front of the car, you could feel the emotion attached to it. The sound of the LT1 powerplant, the timeless silhouette, and the craftsmanship from ECD Automotive Design all blended together into a build that represented ambition, creativity, and unfinished dreams finally brought to life.

Stories like this remind us why automotive culture matters. Cars become extensions of identity. They carry memories, passion, sacrifice, and sometimes even the legacy people leave behind.

This wasn’t just one of the most beautiful Jaguars we’ve seen. It was one of the most meaningful.
